The Certification:

A Credentialed Mobile Device Security Professional (CMDSP) is an experienced professional who is an expert in managing mobile devices so that their enterprise can use this technology securely without exposing the organization to vulnerabilities. A CMDSP certification demonstrates the mobile device security professional’s knowledge of the following:

Step by Step:
  • STEP ONE: Download and Review the Candidate Handbook

The Candidate Handbook provides detailed information on the CMDSP examination, sample questions, and links to valuable resource materials.

STEP TWO: Establish Eligibility

To be eligible for the CMDSP examination, a candidate must have a minimum of 3 years (6,000 hours) of general IT work experience, of which 2 years (4,000 hours) must be mobile device security specific experience.

OR

A Bachelor’s degree or higher in a computer science (or similar IT related discipline) plus two years (4,000) hours of mobile device security specific experience.

  • STEP THREE: Study

The candidate can choose to self-study, by filling out the CMDSP Application and paying the $395 (USD) Application Fee. Within 3-5 business days candidate will receive an Authorization to Test and the comprehensive Pupil Study Guide.

OR

Take a class at one of CMDSP’s Authorized Training Centers (ATCs). Candidates will gain valuable knowledge and prepare for the CMDSP Exam with classes offered through one of CMDSP’s valued partner organizations. Training includes the Pupil Study Guide, CMDSP Application Fee, and two days of extensive training by industry experts.

  • STEP FOUR: Take the Exam

Once the candidate has confirmed eligibility and completed the training, they will be sent information on taking the CMDSP examination at one of over 1,000 test centers worldwide. Candidates will have one-year from the time they receive the Authorization to Test to take the exam. There will be an additional fee of $125 paid to the exam proctor organization. Upon successful completion of the CMDSP examination the certification will be valid for 3 years.
